Sound Composites has developed a material designed for optimal technical and sonic outcomes:
Arcotech Fingerboards are supremely stable and do not move, wear or groove.
Each fingerboard:

  • Has a non-wearing and moisture-proof surface; thus stable and impervious to string wear
  • Is Satin smooth to the touch
  • Is tonally consistent and even throughout the entire fingerboard
  • Provides a traditional aesthetic
  • And notably, fibrous carbon is not present close to the fingerboard surface. This is the area which may be tooled by some in the dressing of the fingerboard surface. Resultantly, the area to be dressed is friendly to work and is formulated to not wear cutters.
Sound Composites Arcotech fingerboards for classical-style stringed instruments are designed to have the overall textbook density of Ebony. Thus, they are entirely compatible with wood-necks instruments.

Sound Composites Arcotech fingerboards are not reliant on density to deliver their ‘non-wearing’ surface, even when using abrasive strings. Sound Composites does not have to compromise due to the perceived hardness and density needs of other manufacturers.
